Artist statement
The painting begins with a question, a sketch, and a human figure.
My practice has developed through continuous, self-directed work and experimentation. I build each canvas through thematic research, drawing and careful attention to composition.
Women, grief, displacement and resilience are recurring presences. I use symbolic figures and historical references to make spaces where private experience becomes shared memory.
